Legal Description
Section 18 has headquarters with two wells, one for the house and one for livestock. They are both 30 foot wells with 50 GPM flow. There is a holding area with an open shed and a 2 hole jug winter water tank. The main corral has a two hole and a 4 hole Jug winter water tank. There is a winter windbreak and a calving windbreak; they have a covered winter water tank. There is a pipeline from section 18 to section 12. Along this pipeline in section 18 are three hydrants and tanks.
In section 12, there is a tank and hydrant in each of the two quarters. The quarter in section ten has a 40 foot well that has a ten GPM flow. It has a tank in it, and a pipeline to the winter tank in section 11. Sec 10 and 12 are watered by tanks only.
Sec 3,11,18 & 19 all have Thirteen Mile Creek flowing through them. Section 18 and 19 typically have year round flowing water. There still is some barbwire, but most of the fencing is electric.
The ranch has been in a Conservation Security program since 2004. It is at the third tier level which means that all resource concerns have been addressed. The native grass is in excellent condition. There are 32 paddocks on the ranch with water in all of them or access to water. A majority of the pastures, because of their proximity to the live streams, are sub-irrigated.
The eighteen hundred acres of native grass can easily summer 130 head of cattle pairs and 20 replacement heifers. Cropland and introduced grasslands produce all of the winter hay for the operation.
